What they needed

The old site ran on WordPress.com. Adding a painting or marking one sold took more effort than it should, and the paintings were not the first thing a visitor saw.

What I built

A website that leads with the paintings, never cropped, with an enquiry link on each work, alongside the collections, the Save Me! endangered languages installation with its soundscape, workshops, exhibitions and news. Behind it is a studio manager where the artist adds paintings, reorders them by dragging and edits page copy in place. Photographs are resized for the web on upload. No email address is printed: enquiries come through the form and are checked for spam before they reach her.

  • Paintings and collections, with an enquiry link on every work
  • A studio manager built for the artist
  • Photographs resized on upload
  • Enquiries checked for spam before they are passed on

The outcome

Adding a painting or marking one sold takes a minute, and the paintings are the first thing a visitor sees.
